About Kay
I started studio fine arts classes at the University of Minnesota's School of Fine Arts in the 70s and have continued with classes for decades, recently at the University of New Mexico's College of Fine Arts.
My artistic style would be described as mostly Impressionistic. My painting technique is expressed through many layers of paint. I like all aspects of color theory, but for me The Surprise—the pink spot poking out from green foliage, the orange stripe in the blue sky—makes me happiest with my work
Although I have worked in watercolor painting, paper collage, ceramic process, graphite drawing, and intaglio printmaking, the mediums that suit me best are oil and acrylic painting.
